Anybody want a peanut?

My dad and Bev kindly shipped us a bookcase they had been keeping in storage until we had room for it. Well good ole UPS wanted to make sure nothing happened to that bookcase so they filled the box with what must be millions of Styrofoam peanuts. Does anyone have any ideas for what I can do with all of them? I don't have the heart to just throw them away.

*UPDATE: The peanuts are gone! I put them on craig's list and offered them for free to anyone who wanted them as long as they picked them up. Well, someone came yesterday and took every last peanut. He even took a big bunch of bubble wrap! Woo hoo!

Christmas in Utah

We went to Utah for Christmas and it was so fun! I was dreading the flight after the fiasco flying to Utah in August by myself with Kate, but it was so much easier this time with Jason there! We spent Christmas Eve at family parties and then on Christmas day we opened presents at Jason's parents in the morning and at my dad's that night. The rest of the trip was spent shopping with my sisters, going out to eat, seeing a movie (Marley and Me. It was cute but it made a better book than movie I think), playing with my new Wii Fit, and relaxing by the fire. I was also able to squeeze in a lunch with some friends from high school, a Christmas party with more high school friends (see earlier post) and a dinner with some college roommates. On New Years Eve we got all dressed up and went to dinner with my family at a place called Asian Star. Then we played Settlers of Katan and toasted in the new year with sparkling cider. It didn't snow much while we were there, except for a pretty big storm on Christmas day. Kate didn't think much of the snow. My dad even bought a sled to pull her around on. She lasted about 10 seconds before she started crying. Maybe he can try again next year! As always, it was great to be there.

I think the title says it all

Christmas Party 2008

I got together with some buddies from high school for a Christmas party while we were in Utah. It was so fun to see everyone and their kids! I'm so glad that we can still get together and have such a good time no matter how long it has been.

Mud is Fun

I broke down today and let Kate get her hands dirty. Literally. Her favorite thing to do when we go outside is to splash around in the water and mud in the gutter. I usually won't let her, but today I just let her have at it. Of course, the fun was followed by a bath!

Christmas is coming!

Sorry it's been so long since the last post. We are so excited for Christmas around here! And most of the shopping is done. Here are some pictures of our decorations; the tree is a fake. Jason requested a fake one and I didn't really care that much, so there you have it. At least now we don't have to worry about getting one every year. And the reason the stockings are so mismatched is because mine and Jason's are the ones we had growing up and I decided to "make" one for Kate (I use the term loosely because I bought a plain stocking and just added stuff to it). Merry Christmas!
